Heather CroallThe Doc/Fest is a documentary film festival, conference and marketplace held in Sheffield every November that attracts around 1200 industry delegates and 100 buyers. Heather was previously the director of the Australian International Documentary Conference (AIDC), where she created the innovative matchmaking one-to-one pitching initiative The MeetMarket - now part of the Doc/Fest.

Prior to being a festival director, Heather produced documentaries and cross platform interactive projects in Australia and the UK including the award winning www.usmob.com.au and Paradise Bent. She was the manager of the Cross Platform Fund at the SA Film Corp from 2000-2003 where she helped create the Digital Media investment strategy. Heather has been one of the documentary industry's leading proponents of the emerging field of new media.  

She developed a conference strand called DigiDocs 360 in 2000 at the Adelaide Festival looking at the impact of convergence on documentary industry and this is now a major strand at the Sheffield Doc/Fest. Heather has been co-directing and producing Crossover Labs since 2002 - a residential workshop that encourages traditional film and TV producers to collaborate with new media and interactive producers.
