Fiona began her career in children's publishing as designer and then Art Director at Reed Children's Books, where she spent 8 years working with premium children's brands such as Winnie the Pooh, Thomas the Tank Engine, Fireman Sam as well as classic picture books including The Jolly Postman by Janet and Allan Ahlberg and Meg and Mog by Jan Pienkowski.
She then left to join Dorling Kindersley where she helped to establish a new list for illustrated fiction and licensed characters, moving from Art Director to Publisher and then Managing Director of the Children's business.
Some of the prestige brands that she signed for DK included Star Wars, Barbie, Disney/Pixar, DC Comics and James Bond. More recently Fiona has been the Children's Colour Publisher for Random House Children's Books, where she has been focused on building the colour profile of the list, introducing both mass market illustrated ranges such as the million selling Princess Poppy as well as developing the licensed character programme.
