Literary Editor, the Guardian

Claire joined the Guardian first as a critic and then as Arts Editor. She has guested as an arts and books commentator on many radio stations and recently presented the Guardian Haycast — eight half-hour podcasts broadcast from the Hay Festival, which included a special edition on writing for children and young people.

She has been a keen supporter of the Guardian Children's fiction prize, and four years ago started a Young Critics competition to run alongside it.
