Vice President of Programming, Acquisition, and Presentation – Turner Broadcasting Systems Europe

Cecilia Persson is Vice President of Programming, Acquisition, and Presentation for Cartoon Network, Boomerang, Cartoon Network Too and Cartoonito channels for Turner Broadcasting in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).  Promoted from Director of Acquisitions in July 2006, Cecilia oversees all elements of content acquisition and programming, including animation on Cartoon Network, a mix of animation and live action on Boomerang and pre-school on Cartoonito.  Additionally the channels’ Compliance Department also reports into Cecilia.

Cecilia joined Turner in January 2005 from Showtime, the Viacom co-owned digital satellite broadcaster, where she was Director of Acquisitions, Planning and Channel Development.  There she was responsible for acquiring a wide variety of products, ranging from kids to feature films, and oversaw planning and presentation for the company’s seven owned and operated channels.  Based in the UK, Cecilia was responsible for output deals with major studios including Fox, Universal, Paramount, Sony and DreamWorks.  Prior to Showtime Cecilia was Channel Manager at Carlton Cinema.
