Early careers in busking, cow-herding, life-saving, packing onions and conserving and restoring antiques provided a solid foundation for Sheila de Courcy's work in broadcasting.

For over 20 years she has been producing and directing all kinds of programmes on single and multi-camera. Highlights included the creation of a teen soap for RTÉ; Executive Producer, 40 Years of RTÉ Television and running the RTÉ Arts magazine series for 4 years.

Now Commissioning Editor, Young People's Programmes, RTÉ, Sheila commissions around 400 minutes of original material each week for children and young adults.
